Opera Fort Collins will present the concert version of FOLLIES* Saturday, September 6 at 7:30 pm in the Performance Hall.

The old Weismann Theater is scheduled for demolition. Several of the former Weismann Follies showgirls and their husbands – mirrored by the ghosts of their younger selves – gather for a reunion amidst the backstage scaffolding. As they reminisce about their former glory, the follies and foibles of their lives begin to unfold. Rarely performed, Stephen Sondheim’s emotionally-charged 1971 opera/musical theater crossover production has garnered Drama Desk, Laurence Olivier, and Tony awards. It features some of his most popular music including Broadway Baby, Too Many Mornings, I’m Still Here, Losing My Mind, and Could I Leave You?

The show will run approximately 2 1/2 hours and will feature Marcia Ragonetti, Judeth Shay Burns, Melissa Malde, Patrice Burgstahler, Eileen Krebs and the Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra.
